Tommy. Rebuilding that image, one public appearance at a time.

Best Picture, Drama:
Benjamin Button
Frost/Nixon
The Reader
Revolutionary Road
Slumdog Millionaire

Winner: Slumdog Millionaire. Such a great sweep!!

To the three of you who followed along – thank you! This is the only way I can survive this awards show. I promise to be more witty and quick during the Oscars.

Now go see Milk and Slumdog!

Are we there yet?

Remind me to drink me during the Oscars. I fear I’m rather dull this evening.

Susan Sarandon.

Best Actor, Drama:
Leo
Frank Langella
Brad Pitt
Mickey Rourke
Sean Penn

Winner: Mickey Rourke

Apparently I really need to see this film too. Sorry, but I was seriously rooting for Sean Penn, who was phenomenal in Milk.

Take off your sunglasses.

HOLD ON..screen went black for 5 seconds. Was it something Rourke said or the raging winds outside???!

Has anyone ever thanked their dog before?

I’m sure he was great in The Wrestler, but my vote is for Penn come Oscar time.

Sigh. Commercial break, then Best Picture.

Freida Pinto &…I won’t attempt to misspell his name.  He is a Bollywood star.

Best Picure nominee: Slumdog Millionaire.

Cameron Diaz and Mark Wahlberg…who exec produces Entourage, not In Treatment. Last time I checked.

Best Actress, Film:
Anne Hathaway
Angelina Jolie
Meryl Streep
Kristin Scott Thomas
Kate Winslet

Winner: KATE WINSLET!! Holy sh*t, a double victory. YES!!!!

I can’t possibly love her more. In a non-stalker way.

They should have cut to commercial there. It was perfect.

Ah yes, Rainn Wilson and Gossip Girl girl.

Best TV series:
Dexter
House
In Treatment
Mad Men

Winner: Mad Men

Horrible presentation, deserving victory. Of course I still can’t believe that Lost wasn’t nominated.

Note to AMC: please keep Matthew Weiner as the showrunner. Mad Men wouldn’t be the same without him.

Martin Scorsese, presenting Spielberg with the award. I was going to fast forward to try and catch up, but I can’t.  I own and love so many of his films.

Ugh, except for Transformers (which I had forgotten he co-produced).

YES! I am caught up w/the TiVO.

Love Emma Thompson. Recently watched The Graduate again. Little Dusty, so cute.

Best Director:
Slumdog Millionaire
The Reader
Benjamin Button
Frost/Nixon
Revolutionary Road

Winner: Danny Boyle, Millionaire! Very cool. He directed the hell out of that film. Refreshing, colorful, heartwarming, gut-wrenching.

Sigourney Weaver. Where have you been?

Best Picture nominee: Revolutionary Road.

Sandra Bullock. Hi.

Best Actor, film (musical/comedy):
Javier Bardem
Brendan Gleason
Colin Farrell
Dustin Hoffman

Oh please don’t sing, Pierce.

Best Picture nominee: Mamma Mia.

Is it true that Mamma Mia outsold The Dark Knight on DVD? I DON’T GET IT. Loved ABBA as a kid, but that film was pretty horrible.

Is P Diddy only known as Sean Combs at awards shows?

Best Original Score:
Benjamin Button
Changeling
Defiance
Slumdog Millionaire (my pick)
Frost/Nixon

Winner: Slumdog Millionaire

Love it! Bought the soundtrack immediately after seeing the movie.

Jane Krakowski & Duchovny. Most of you know how I feel about all things X-Files, but wow it is challenging to look at him as Mulder now or ever again.

AWKWARD, party of two.

Best Actress in a TV series (musical/comedy):
Christina Applegate
America Ferrera
Tina Fey
Debra Messing
Mary Louise Parker

Winner: Tina Fey. Get out your brooms, NBC.  A well-deserved sweep.

Sidenote: my friend just texted that she’d (and I quote) “do more than get a smoothie with Tina Fey.” LOL.

Tina Fey kills me. Hilarious.  But seriously, I’d just want to chat over a Jamba juice with her.
