ALL STAR SUNDAY: BASEBALL IN MY BACKYARD (UPDATED)

UPDATE: I now have a ticket to Monday’s Homerun Derby at AT&T Park in SF!! The best part? Left field bleachers, 2nd row. PRIME location to catch a ball or two. Or duck and cover while throngs of men throw themselves into a frenzy attempting to do the same. Tune in to ESPN on Monday…I’ll be the five foot tall woman by herself in the white A’s jersey, surrounded by overeager gloves on large men and gangly teenagers. Woo hoo!

Ok, so AT&T Park is not exactly in my backyard. But it’s in the proximity, and I LOVE baseball, so I’m doing everything I can to attend the Homerun Derby on Monday.

I will be going to the Futures Game and All-Star Legends/Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, which should be quite entertaining. Alyssa Milano, Dane Cook, Rob Schneider, Jerry Rice, and even Kevin Dillon (Drama!) will be playing.

Now I have to decide if I am geeky enough to go to the FanFest beforehand.

Dan Haren will be the sole A’s representative in Tuesday night’s All-Star Game, and he has more than earned a starting spot among the best pitchers in both leagues. I’m rooting for the American League all the way.

If you know anyone with a single ticket to the Homerun Derby, let me know!
